Discovery Parks invests $14m across six properties

Discovery Parks is set to spend $14 million across six parks in the lead up to Christmas.

Six properties will undergo strategic developments – Barossa Valley, Lake Bonney, Maidens Inn Moama, Emerald Beach, Gerroa and Bryon Bay. To identify key performing features in the parks, Discovery Parks has conducted a detailed review on recent developments. New cabins, safari tents and waterparks are recognised as developments that can successfully elevate park performance.

Discovery Parks has announced that its new business structure will include further investing in its people, place and process to support the business for scalable growth to 2020 and beyond. This is the first significant step on implementing this strategy.

Combining these insights and results from current occupancy analysis with regional tourism statistics, Discovery Parks will invest in the following across six selected parks:

  • An impressive combination of 60 new Deluxe and Superior cabins
  • A splashtacular illuminated waterpark
  • Resort-style pool
  • State-of-the-art kids-club/ community centre
  • A cutting edge camp kitchen

“Our goal is to build the best accommodation business in Australia and help our guests ‘discover what matters’ with a customer focused strategy. This investment is us putting money where our mouth is. All the developments are built on our extensive customer knowledge. We are confident that they will fulfil the demand at each location and create an even better experience for our customers,” CEO of Discovery Parks, Grant Wilckens said.

This announcement follows a string of exciting initiatives. Last month, Discovery Parks acquired Coolwaters Holiday Village at Yeppoon in Queensland and inked a 15-year management contract for Streaky Bay Foreshore Tourist Park in South Australia.
