Australia’s top 10 holiday homes have been named

The properties have been recognised in the Stayz annual list.

Stayz has released its annual list of Australia’s top 10 holiday homes, recognising some of the best properties the country has to offer.

Celebrating its 10th year, the awards named several regional winners, with providers hoping that the announcements will be a boost for regional tourism as businesses strive to recover from the pandemic.

We are thrilled to announce the 2021 winners of the Stayz Holiday Home of the Year Awards. The awards couldn’t come at a better time as many Australians, particularly those in lockdown, are bursting to travel again when they can,” said Simone Scoppa, travel expert at Stayz.

First place was awarded to Barra Luxe Beach House, a reimagined 1970s beach shack at Point Arkwright on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The property includes five bedrooms and four bathrooms, along with a swimming pool, covered deck and galley kitchen. Guests enjoy easy access to nearby Yaroomba Beach and the relaxed holiday home atmosphere.

In second place was Nord House in Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Located close to Point Leo Beach, the property is well styled for all seasons and offers three luxurious bedrooms.

Securing third place, Dragon Tree House in Lennox Head, New South Wales, is an open-plan beachside property with a gourmet kitchen, outdoor barbecue, onsite pool and private outdoor bath.

“The winning homes reflect today’s travel trends where we’re increasingly seeing holidaymakers take frequent and sometimes last-minute road trips to private holiday houses in coastal locations,” said Ms Scoppa. “The homes are also reflective of the different tastes that Aussie families have in homes from luxe coastal experiences to unique regional accommodation. Interestingly, all the gold, silver and bronze medal winning homes are pet friendly, reflecting another trend of how much Aussies embrace man’s best friend as part of the family.”

The awards judging criteria were based on past bookings, traveller reviews and available amenities.

Shortlisted holiday homes included properties in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. The full 2021 winners list can be found at www.stayz.com.au/awards.
