Multi-award-winning Motel Molly for sale
Motel Molly hits the market: Stylish retro motels experienced a remarkable resurgence in Australia in 2023
The multi-award-winning Motel Molly is now up for sale, exclusively presented by HTL Property.
In November 2022, the well-known Surfbeach Motel in the NSW South Coast town of Mollymook re-emerged as Motel Molly following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

The motel went on to win a string of accolades, including two Sydney Design Awards at BETTER FUTURE, becoming a finalist for Development of the Year in the Urban Developer Awards, and receiving high commendation in the ‘New Hotel’ category at the HM Awards – 2023.
According to HTL Marketing agent Nic Simarro, the accommodation business is highly profitable and requires minimal capital expenditure. “It’s a seamless and simple operation – suitable for investors and/or new entrants,” he said.
Designed by renowned architect Richards Stanisich, Motel Molly takes its cues from the laid-back coastal town—a long-time popular venue for Sydney weekend escapees—while incorporating connections to the motel’s 1980s past.
The motel comprises 16 expansive rooms, a resort-style pool, and a lavish BBQ and communal space.
Accommodation options for guests include a three-bedroom residence, three two-bedroom apartments, a one-bedroom apartment, and 11 King Suites, some equipped with kitchenettes, Moroccan-style sunken baths, and balconies.
Each room strikes a balance between the “barefoot breeziness” of past motels and the subtle luxury of boutique hotels.
Cascading greenery, lawns, an outdoor BBQ area, and a central swimming pool set amid landscaped surrounds create a welcoming oasis and deliver privacy.
Encircled by Jervis Bay, Milton, Ulladulla, and Dolphins Point, Motel Molly is adjacent to Mollymook Beach, within a three-hour drive of Sydney and Canberra.
Expression of Interest campaign for Motel Molly will close on April 11, 2024, at 4 PM.
