Hilton: A leader in hospitality and workplace culture
Hilton’s recognition as the number two best place to work in Australia is a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. For the second year in a row, Hilton has topped the list as the best hospitality company to work for in the nation, a distinction celebrated by Mary Hogg, Hilton’s Regional Director of Human Resources for Australasia.
“We are beyond excited to share that Hilton has once again achieved significant recognition from the Great Place to Work® Institute. This honour reflects our unwavering commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace. Our teams’ passion and dedication are what make Hilton a great place to work. It’s thanks to every team member that we have reached this milestone,” said Hogg.
Paul Hutton, Area Vice President and Head of Australasia at Hilton, highlighted the enduring appeal of a career in hospitality, especially at a time when the workplace is rapidly evolving.
“In an era where the workplace has evolved tremendously, we understand the growing importance of inclusive and flexible working experiences. Hospitality has always been and always will be a great choice for a career.
“At Hilton, our commitment is stronger than ever, ensuring we cultivate a culture that not only supports professional and personal growth but also enhances the overall work environment for everyone. Our Team Members come for a job, but stay for a career, finding a place where they can thrive and build their future,” Hutton stated.
Marriott International: A Top Employer in Australia
Marriott International also secured a spot on the top ten list, ranking fourth among Australia’s best places to work. The increase in ranking from sixth place in 2023 is testament to the company’s continued focus on growing great leaders, investing in associates, and providing access to opportunity.
Natasha Rasheed, Area Director HR – ANZP, said “Building a workplace where every individual can thrive is our ultimate goal at Marriott International.
We believe that by fostering an environment of inclusivity, empowerment, and continuous growth, we create a foundation for our associates to excel personally and professionally.”
The successful achievement marks another positive result for the hotel company, which has 5000 associates in Australia and has opened two new hotels already in Australia in 2024, expanding their footprint to 46 operating Hotels and Resorts in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
David Mansfield, Chair of Accommodation Australia, praised both Hilton and Marriott International for their achievements, noting the significance of having two hotel groups among the top ten employers in Australia.
“To have two hotels groups, and two of our members, in the top ten is great news for our industry and I congratulate both companies,” he said.
He added that such recognition is vital for the hospitality industry, especially in light of the current skills shortage, as it highlights the rewarding career opportunities available in the sector.
The 2024 Best Workplaces list, announced on Thursday, August 23, evaluated more than 90 organisations across four categories, using rigorous analytics and confidential feedback from over 100,000 employees.
