Construction on the highly anticipated $40 million Quest Bairnsdale project is well underway, with the new mixed-use development in Dalmahoy Street on track for a June/July 2025 opening.
On Thursday October 10, key representatives from Quest Apartment Hotels, Dahlsens, BFN Developments, and Fenton Design Group gathered on-site to celebrate the progress of this milestone development, which will bring 60 new rooms to East Gippsland’s picturesque region.
Quest Bairnsdale’s three-storey property will feature a variety of accommodation options, including 30 studio rooms (two of which are accessible), 24 one-bedroom rooms (two accessible), and six two-bedroom rooms.

David Mansfield, Managing Director of The Ascott Limited Australasia, shared his excitement over the project’s progress: “We’re delighted to mark another key milestone in Quest Apartment Hotels’ growth with construction of Quest Bairnsdale now underway. The Gippsland region is experiencing extraordinary growth, and Quest is proud to support that demand through exceptional hospitality experiences.”
East Gippsland has seen a tourism boom, with visitor numbers increasing by 26 percent in 2023, reaching a record 1.71 million visitors according to Tourism Research Australia. Quest Bairnsdale will not only meet the growing demand for accommodations but will also contribute to the local economy and set a new standard for luxury and convenience in the region.
Mr Mansfield added, “Our goal remains to achieve significant growth under the ‘2030 growth strategy,’ aiming to reach over 200 Quest properties and 30 managed hotels by the end of the decade.”
The collaboration with Dahlsens, BFN Developments, and Fenton Design Group has ensured that the project will meet the highest standards of quality and excellence. Once completed, Quest Bairnsdale will provide much-needed accommodations for tourists and business travelers, further enhancing the region’s appeal as a destination.
