Australia’s first hotel with purpose-built drone landing facilities to rise in Parramatta
ValueSuites Group has commenced construction on its new 182-room flagship hotel, combining future-focused infrastructure with a Level 14 wellness sanctuary in the heart of Western Sydney.
A new 182-room hotel development in the heart of Parramatta is aiming to push hospitality infrastructure in a new direction, with plans to become the first hotel in Australia built with dedicated drone landing facilities.
Independent hospitality owner-operator ValueSuites Group has officially commenced construction on the 4-star project, which is scheduled to open by the end of 2027 and will become the company’s flagship property.

Located just 100 metres from Parramatta Railway Station, the development reflects growing confidence in what the company describes as Australia’s second CBD and the increasing demand for quality accommodation in Western Sydney.

For ValueSuites Group General Manager Aashish Shakya, the inclusion of purpose-built drone infrastructure is intended as a long-term investment in emerging urban air mobility technologies.
Mr Shakya said the drone infrastructure was purpose-built into the project from the ground up rather than added later as a retrofit. He compared the technology to the early adoption of EV charging infrastructure, arguing that urban air mobility is rapidly moving from concept to commercial reality.
“This isn’t a gimmick,” Mr Shakya said.
“We are not building for today — we are building for the next decade and beyond.
“The drone landing facility is our commitment to the future of travel infrastructure. When urban air mobility becomes mainstream, our guests in Parramatta will already be living it.”
The company said the infrastructure is designed to accommodate future developments in drone delivery, air taxis, autonomous aerial logistics and related guest services as the technology evolves.
The development comes as Parramatta continues to attract major government, commercial and infrastructure investment. The precinct is home to a growing corporate and government workforce, with organisations including Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, NAB and QBE maintaining a strong presence in the area.
Major projects including Parramatta Light Rail, the Powerhouse Parramatta cultural precinct and the Western Sydney Airport are also contributing to the city’s ongoing transformation.
Despite this growth, ValueSuites believes the market remains underserved when it comes to quality 4-star and above hotel accommodation. The company said the new hotel is intended to help meet increasing demand from corporate travellers, government delegations, event visitors and leisure guests visiting Western Sydney.
In addition to its drone landing facilities, the property will feature a full wellness sanctuary on Level 14, designed as an indoor-outdoor botanical retreat above the city skyline. The wellness floor will combine landscaped garden elements with dedicated wellness facilities, reflecting growing traveller demand for accommodation experiences focused on wellbeing and lifestyle.
Mr Shakya said the Parramatta development represents a major milestone for the growing ValueSuites portfolio.
“Parramatta is not Sydney’s second city — it is Sydney’s next city,” he said.
“We have watched this precinct grow with enormous conviction, and we believe the time is now to deliver a hotel that Parramatta’s business community, visitors, and residents truly deserve.”
Once completed, the Parramatta hotel will bring the ValueSuites Group portfolio to six properties across Greater Sydney, joining existing locations in Penrith, Green Square, Chippendale, Surry Hills and Redfern.
The development is also expected to create jobs during both construction and ongoing operations, with future roles spanning hotel management, front office, housekeeping and maintenance.
ValueSuites said the project reflects its long-term commitment to Western Sydney and its confidence in Parramatta’s future as a major commercial, cultural and visitor destination.
