Treasure Island Resort

Gold Coast’s iconic Treasure Island Holiday Park, located on Brisbane Rd in Biggera Waters is managed by FreeSpirit Holiday Parks, an Australian owned and operated company.

FreeSpirit Holiday Parks manages 10 properties nationally on behalf of corporate owners.

These properties include locations such as two in Darwin while in Queensland there is one in Hervey Bay and one on the Gold Coast. In NSW there are two in Yamba, and parks in Arrawarra, Umina Beach, Merimbula and another in western Sydney.

Treasure Island Holiday Park is owned by NRMA Holiday Parks (a division of NRMA Motoring & Services) and is just one of the five NRMA owned properties that FreeSpirit manages.

With a broad range of accommodation, Treasure Island successfully meets a range of needs and budgets whilst maintaining a fun atmosphere in a family environment.

The holiday park offers 125 rooms in 21 different styles as well as 87 caravan and camping sites. The 21 room styles are: the townhouse riverside villa, townhouse lagoon villa, townhouse garden villa, lagoon deluxe villa, pandanus villa, spa studio unit, superior deluxe villa, deluxe studio villa, deluxe villa, family cottage, studio unit, poolside villa, superior garden villa, junior garden villa, garden villa, holiday unit, studio cabin – five persons, studio cabin – two persons, en suite cabin and standard cabin.

All of the rooms are very modern, exceptionally clean and fully self contained.

The pandanus villas are the most recent addition to the park’s accommodation. Having just been completed, the 20 brand new two-bedroom, two bathroom villas are ideal for families and couples.

The 87 caravan and campsites come in two styles: premium powered site and powered site. The main point of difference is the premium powered sites are immaculate, level and grassed with a double concrete slab and nestled amongst tropical palms and landscaped gardens while the powered sites – also grassed – are scattered amongst the gardens and within walking distance of the well equipped camp kitchen that offers facilities such as toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave, sink and TV with plenty of indoor tables and chairs.

If the extensive range of accommodation styles is any indication, it is fairly obvious the list of park facilities would be just as impressive. And it is. Treasure Island is home to a plethora of facilities such as three swimming pools: the main resort pool features a waterslide, wading area and separate children’s pool; the lagoon pool, with waterfall and sun lounges and the riverside pool, with sun lounges and bordered by landscaped gardens, giant jumping pillow, children’s playground, heated spas, mini golf course, buggy hire, tennis court, indoor games area with pool table, basketball half court, barbeque areas, Internet kiosks and wireless hotspots, camp kitchen, convenience kiosk, tour desk and Galleons Licensed Bistro & Bar.

There is also a long list of guest services such as modern guest amenities buildings, children’s bathroom, guest laundries with washing machines and dryers, cot hire, special access bathrooms, security entry gates, public telephone, dump point and LP gas refills.

FreeSpirit Holiday Parks operations manager, Danella Rockley said Treasure Island certainly offers something for everyone.

“We have a heavy focus on families and it is Treasure Island’s location and the different facilities within its park itself that reiterate that focus. The property is constantly being upgraded with new facilities and that’s what keeps the property fresh and at the forefront of everyone’s mind. That’s what we believe keeps our guests coming back.”
