High rise planned for Nerang
Gold Coast property developers industry visionary Geoff and Tony Burchill are planning to construct Nerang’s first highrise to new heights — literally.
The highest of five towers will be 17-storeys and the lowest at nine levels on a parcel owned by the family for 35 years near the station.
The Burchills plan providing 173 river and park apartments on a 2.55ha site with both river and park frontages, subject to council approvals.
“Nerang has missed out on the sort of major investment that has been occurring in suburbs like Robina, Helensvale and Coomera,” said Mr Burchill snr.
There will be a two-level manager’s apartment and the company is expected to start work on the staged project by late 2015.
Another Nerang highrise is being planned by China based Ridong on a large riverfront holding it bought for $20.8 million last year.
