Adrian Zecha and Harry Triguboff to receive First Awards at HotelsWorld 2017

Each year at HotelsWorld, the First Awards are presented to recognise and honour the contribution of true industry pioneers.

Awards are announced in the categories of Australia First and Global First. Prior recipients include: KP Ho, Paul Constantinou, Richard Hartman, the Vidor Family, Richard Bailey, David Seargeant, Rachel Argaman and the Farrell Family.

First Awards move away from the concept of honours based on seniority and age by instead focusing on people who have made a unique contribution to the world of hotel management or ownership by achieving something unique and special – something that is a genuine First.

In 2017, First Awards will be presented to: Harry Triguboff, AO, Australia’s richest man and chairman & managing director of The Meriton Group; and to Mr Adrian Zecha, founder of Amanresorts and co-founder of other revered hotel companies including Regent International and Raphael Hotels. Mr Triguboff will be presented with an Australia First Award and Mr Zecha with a Global First Award.

The awards will be presented on 26 July 2017 in Sydney during HotelsWorld, in front of an expected audience of 500 industry CEOs and other senior executives from all over the world.

“Both have achieved unique outcomes in their respective fields – Mr Triguboff by successfully building and managing through Meriton a portfolio of serviced apartments comprising over 4,521 suites in 17 Australian locations; and Mr Zecha by singularly and jointly with other global pioneers, creating some of the world’s most highly desired hotel brands, as well as conceiving and developing more than 100 hotels worldwide,” Mr Smith said.
