The Calile and Tasman Hotels ranked among the world’s top 50

The Calile Hotel and The Tasman Hotel have both been recognised amongst the top hotels globally

The Calile Hotel and The Tasman Hotel have both been recognised amongst the top hotels globally, named as two of the hotels on The World’s 50 Best Hotels list 2024.

The Calile Hotel and Tasman Hotel were ranked as number 25 and 49 respectively, with The Calile Hotel also being recognised as The Best in Oceania.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels list was created by The World’s 50 Best Hotels Academy, an influential group of more than 600 independent leaders, each selected for their expert opinion of the international hotel scene.

The anonymous and neutral voting members of the Academy range from hoteliers to travel journalists, seasoned luxury travellers, hospitality professionals and other experienced globetrotters.

The list, according to organisers, promises to create the most egalitarian, useful and transparent hotel ranking system ever devised.

In attendance for the ceremony, The Calile Hotel Co-owner Catherine Malouf said she was extremely proud to be again representing the Malouf family (owners) and employees of The Calile at such a significant celebration.

“To have been selected two years in a row marks a significant affirmation of The Calile’s place on the global hotel industry stage. This is a win for our team, our collaborators, our loyal guests and a win for Brisbane as a destination, and we are humbled to again represent Australia and be recognised as leading in the Oceania region” she said.

Stephen Morahan, The Tasman Hotel General Manager, said: “Tasmania has long been a jewel in Australia’s crown as a place to experience natural and epicurean delights, and fabulous warm friendly hospitality. The Tasman embodies these experiences and to be celebrated on the world’s stage is not only a testament to our offerings but those of the entire state.

“I would like to express my gratitude to The World’s 50 Best judging panel for the acknowledgement and, of course, thank our amazing team who offer the exceptional service every day that puts The Tasman a cut above the rest.”
