Now in its second year in Perth, Maximum Occupancy West Coast is rapidly becoming a must-attend event for the region’s hotel, tourism, and accommodation professionals

Western Australia’s accommodation and tourism sectors united last week at the Maximum Occupancy West Coast 2025 conference, held at Pan Pacific Perth. With over 150 industry professionals in attendance, the event has been widely applauded as the best of its kind in the state, setting a new benchmark for future hospitality gatherings in the region.

Attendees were treated to a dynamic program of speakers, panels, and practical insights designed to help businesses tackle pressing challenges—from staffing shortages and booking strategies to AI integration and evolving guest expectations.

The highlight of the day was the keynote address by Hon. Reece Whitby MLA, WA’s Minister for Tourism. He emphasised the government’s strong commitment to supporting tourism growth, spotlighting its investment in infrastructure and marketing to raise the state’s global profile.

This was followed by an energetic and inspiring keynote from Anneke Brown, Managing Director of Tourism WA, who called on the sector to act boldly, innovate, and continue to build confidence in WA’s unique tourism offering.

Sessions throughout the day covered a range of hot-button topics, including:

  • Direct booking strategies and digital transformation

  • Recruitment and retention in a challenging labour market

  • The growing impact of AI in hospitality

  • Major events and their role in driving occupancy

  • Food and beverage trends reshaping the guest experience

The conference also offered vital networking opportunities, helping connect regional and metro operators with key stakeholders and solution providers.

Positive delegate feedback has underscored the value of the event:

“In WA, we often feel left out of major industry events. This conference proves just how vital it is to have something of this calibre in Perth.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the conference and would love to support again in future.”

“It was a valuable opportunity to connect, learn, and spark ideas that will hopefully continue to shape the future of our industry here in WA. I’ll absolutely be spreading the word–events like this are essential, and I look forward to seeing it grow even further in 2026.”

Now in its second year in Perth, Maximum Occupancy West Coast is rapidly becoming a must-attend event for the region’s hotel, tourism, and accommodation professionals. Plans are already in motion for the 2026 edition.
