Beef city to get top-level, five-star treatment

Seventy metres of riverfront restaurants is a key feature of the internationally designed Emporium Rockhampton, a brand new 89 room apartment hotel and 40 residential apartment complex planned to overlook the mighty Fitzroy River.

Rockhampton property developer Andrew Beaumont and businessman Wayne Riddell have engaged award winning international architects Cottee Parker to design a three street, frontage five-star facility with three on-site function/meeting rooms and a porte-cochère lobby. The top two levels have penthouse and sub-penthouse apartments, while the podium level boasts a two-lane lap-pool, BBQ terrace, gymnasium and spa/plunge pool. This 13-storey development (including the ground floor) will have state of the art appliances and generous riverfront balconies.

Property developer Andrew Beaumont said, “This design is a first for the greater CQ region and we have enormous confidence in the economic growth of Rockhampton. We are excited to be lodging our fully compliant development application to Rockhampton Regional Council and can commence sales once we receive our approval.”

AN32-1-DN-Emporium-2Rockhampton Regional Council mayor Brad Carter said, “Our city is the capital of Central Queensland and developments like Emporium Rockhampton prove investor confidence in our region. I commend this innovative proposal that fits very comfortably into our strategic planning requirements and will enhance the Rockhampton Riverfront precinct re-development, a joint project between Rockhampton Regional Council and the State Government. Mr Beaumont has a proven successful track record with prestigious developments and I look forward to working with him on this much needed project. “

Chief executive officer Mary Carroll of Capricorn Enterprise, the region’s peak tourism and economic development organisation, said, “With $146 billion dollars worth of investment planned for the CQ region over the next decade, combined with business tourism to Rockhampton enjoying a 4% increase to the year ending December 2010, this city needs new accommodation like Emporium Rockhampton. This developer has proven he is serious with the completion of The Edge Luxury Apartments three years ago which operates at extremely high occupancy rates.
