CBD’s tallest set for May opening

Queanbeyan’s tallest building could be completed as early as May.

Furlong Apartments is a nine-storey permanent with 42 apartments including five penthouses and four sub-penthouses. Already 27 apartments have been sold off-the-plan.
Three storeys will be for car parking and space for restaurants or cafés.

The Queanbeyan City Council gave its approval for the project in 2009 but construction was delayed until 2012. As part of the approval, the Georgian terrace Furlong House – built in the 1850s for hotel owner William Hunt – is being fully restored and will remain on the strata title of the Furlong Apartments and used as an office.
