More than a stay: The Calile Hotel turns guest nights into community support

The Calile Hotel and Sealy Australia partner with Micah Projects to provide over 350 beds for those in need

In a powerful show of community support, The Calile Hotel in Brisbane has announced Micah Projects as its chosen local charity partner for April, May, and June 2025.

As part of the initiative, the hotel will donate $5 from every guest night to the not-for-profit organisation, directly supporting people most in need of housing, healthcare, safety, justice, and connection.

The philanthropic collaboration will also see The Calile team up with Sealy Australia to purchase, manufacture, and supply more than 350 beds – a number that more than doubles the total beds within the hotel itself. The ambitious goal aims to provide essential comfort and dignity to hundreds of people experiencing crisis and homelessness in the local community.

Guests will also have the opportunity to make a personal impact, with the option to add a donation to their stay, further increasing the overall funds raised.

Fortifying its standout position in the Australian hotel industry, The Calile Hotel’s latest initiative is part of a year-round charitable program that invests in local charities and not-for-profits to help drive tangible social change.

“We are surrounded by good people doing great things. Talented people doing brilliant things. We want to support and empower that, because each one of them makes our community a better place to live and visit. It enriches us all when we support each other,” said Catherine Malouf of The Calile.

The hotel’s charitable mission has already seen substantial impact. In the past 12 months alone, The Calile Hotel has raised more than $160,000 for a range of Brisbane-based organisations including 3rd Space, Australasian Dance Collective (ADC), Common Ground Queensland, and the Institute of Modern Art (IMA).

The partnership with Micah Projects underscores the hotel’s continued focus on creating long-lasting, meaningful change — not just for guests, but for the broader community.
