Parkes’ motel could be ready by September
Construction of a new $6.5 million new motel for Parkes could start as early as February.
Parkes businessman, John Pizarro said the new project would be completed in two stages, with the first (at $3.5 million) could be completed in seven months.
The development application for the motel was discussed at the last meeting of Parkes Shire Council.
The site is on the Newell Highway with several houses demolished to make way for the motel.
The new development includes the construction of a motel, restaurant, function centre and swimming pool. There will be 39 motel units (13 of which will have the option of an additional room as in family or second room); two function rooms, three bedroom manager’s flat; in ground pool and gym and 65 on-site car parking spaces.
