Jupiters plan $345m hotel for 2017

Echo Entertainment Group has announced plans for a 17-storey six-star hotel at the Jupiters Casino at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.

The $345 million build will feature some of the country’s most luxurious accommodation. Targeting Asian high-rollers, ten levels will feature three or four bedroom suites complete with home offices and theatres, massive balconies and bathtubs looking over the Pacific Ocean, according to Echo’s Queensland managing director Geoff Hogg.

It would have several gaming levels and a a rooftop entertainment precinct.

He said the new hotel would raise the benchmark for luxury accommodation in Australia. “They will be the best rooms in the country when they open. The wow factor will be both indoors and outdoors. It’s pretty special.”

The plans include the construction of a third bridge to Jupiter’s Broadbeach island and has plans for further hotel towers and entertainment areas on site.

AN71-2-DN-Jupiters 1 300x225The 80-suite hotel is expected to open by late 2017 in tome for the Commonwealth Games in April 2018.

Echo Entertainment Group chief executive Matt Bekier says a turnaround in performance at flagship casino The Star, which helped the company more than double its first-half profit, will be boosted further by more targeted marketing and $500 million in capital works over the next five years.
