Another Whitsunday marina complex proposed
A new proposal for developing Shute Harbour has been announced by Port Binnli. It will include 395 marina berths, three resorts with restaurants and retail outlets and community facilities.
The resort hotel would have 109 suites, a retirement complex with 70 apartments and a managed resort with 52 units.
A consortium of developers including Mark Daniels (Dandevco), Colin Crossley (Crossley Group) and Mark McLachlan (East Coast Civil) are behind the project and the public have just under six weeks to make comments.
Mr Daniels said the project had been planned to revitalise the Shute Harbour precinct and cater for demand from boat owners. Mr Daniels said the development would be constructed in a staged manner that would depend upon government approvals.
Two previous projects, Abel Point Marina and the Port of Airlie, went into receivership last year.
