It’s been a wonderful day, marking our fifth hotel opening in Western Australia, attended by the Mayor and local MP,” he said.
He elaborated on what makes the hotel exceptional, highlighting its strategic location just 10 minutes from the Perth CBD and its unique appeal to both medical and educational professionals, with its proximity to the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct. Moreover, the hotel’s surroundings offer leisure opportunities, contributing to its broad appeal.
Despite a “soft opening,” the hotel saw an impressive 60 percent occupancy in its first week, reflecting its popularity within the local community.
A key focus of our growth strategy is to open hotels in significant urban growth corridors, and the Murdoch Health and Knowledge Precinct, being Western Australia’s newest healthcare and commercial district, is an ideal fit,” Hunt explained.
Asked about his favorite features of the hotel, he mentioned its fresh, light-filled ambiance, beautiful rooms, exceptionally comfortable beds, and the delicious dining options offered. He gave a special mention to the courtyard, a beautiful centrepoint with fully grown trees that the whole community can enjoy.
He noted the hotel’s importance to families, especially those visiting from regional towns for medical procedures, underscoring its role as a vital community asset.
Mr. Hunt also praised the hotel’s young, friendly staff team, led by General Manager James Illing. He said Marriott was committed to nurturing talent through its training and accreditation programs.
He said: “In fact 98 percent of our General Managers are home grown.”
