Quest strengthens its regional roots with new Galah media partnership
Quest Apartment Hotels doubles down on its regional commitment with a unique media alliance—and road trips Australians won’t want to miss.
Quest Apartment Hotels, Australia’s largest regional accommodation provider, has reaffirmed its support for the heartland with a new partnership that champions the stories, spirit, and strength of rural and regional Australia.
The group has teamed up with Galah, an independent media platform known for celebrating bush voices and regional communities, in a move that goes beyond accommodation and into advocacy.
With 66 of its 100+ properties located in regional areas, Quest has long been a crucial player in enabling business and leisure travel outside major cities. Regional locations now account for 60 percent of the group’s national revenue, clear evidence that investing in country communities is more than a feel-good move; it’s a smart one.
I am thrilled Galah is partnering with Quest Apartments. As a champion of all things regional Australia, Quest is a perfect match for us,” said Galah Editor Annabelle Hickson, who praised Quest not only for its extensive footprint but for its social initiatives—including providing free accommodation for young cancer patients living more than 100 kilometres from their treating hospital.
From Wodonga to Bunbury, Kalgoorlie to Mackay, Quest’s network continues to underpin the viability of regional business travel, government outreach, and tourism. As part of its Quest to See Australia campaign, the group is actively encouraging Aussies to ditch the city breaks and embrace the open road.
To make that even easier, Quest is launching curated road trip itineraries designed to spotlight lesser-known gems across the country. New highlights include:
-
The Western Way: Fremantle, Rockingham, Bunbury
-
River to Red Dirt: Perth, Yelverton, Kalgoorlie
-
City Explorer: Melbourne, Canberra, North Sydney
-
Darling Downs to Tropical Treasures: Toowoomba, Ipswich, Mackay
-
Journey Along the Murray: Wodonga, Echuca, Mildura
Coming soon is the City, Coast, Country Trifecta, a trip connecting Quest Portland, Port Adelaide, Mawson Lakes, and several South Australian and Victorian city properties.
David Mansfield, Managing Director of The Ascott Limited (Australasia), said: “Regional Australia is the backbone of this country, and at Quest, we are committed to not only providing accommodation but investing in the success of these communities.
“Our partnership with Galah ensures that regional voices are heard, while our ‘Quest to See Australia’ campaign continues to make travel across these areas easier and more accessible than ever before.”
James Shields, Quest’s General Manager of Growth and Capital Strategy, echoed this vision: “Our strength lies in anticipating demand and investing in locations that matter. Regional Australia is thriving and we are so proud to be a long-standing partner in that growth.”
From editorial partnerships to purpose-driven travel campaigns, Quest is charting a future where accommodation is more than a room; it’s a gateway to connection, contribution, and countryside exploration.
