Another tower proposed for capital
Developer Geocon to build a twin tower complex (one of 35 storeys) at Belconnen could become Canberra’s tallest residential building.
Still in the design stage, the 112m and 80m towers will include 235 residential units and 168 hotel apartments, as well as retail, restaurant, commercial and bar facilities, according to Geocon managing director Nick Georgalis.
Recently a 28-storey Woden 9 apartment proposal was abandoned after major opposition from Canberrans.
Mr Georgalis said he would also talk to the wider community about the design at a council meeting later this month with plans to submit a development application following shortly after. Geocon met with Canberrans at a special meeting last night [Feb 19].
